Stephen Ashman

Steve Ashman started his career as a CPA at KPMG Peat Marwick. He served as Treasurer of the University of Miami, responsible for, among other things, cash management and endowment portfolio administration. In 1983, he entered the banking business, serving in a number of key positions in publicly owned banks. In 1991, Steve led a group of investors that acquired control of Capital Bank in Washington, DC. As President and CEO, he streamlined operations and improved credit quality and sold the Bank in 1998. Mr. Ashman has served on the boards of several public and private companies. In 2002, Mr. Ashman was instrumental in the formation of Harbor Capital National Bank, which changed its name to Capital Bank in 2003. Mr. Ashman currently serves as the Chairman of Capital Bank.

 

Raffy Ekhsigian

After working in commercial real estate, Mr. Ekhsigian began his work with technology companies while as an Associate at NextGen Capital. In 2000, he became the founding CFO for AudioPoint, a speech recognition company based in Fairfax, VA. Mr. Ekhsigian currently consults with several technology companies in the mid-Atlantic region.

 

Harley W. Radin

Currently an active angel investor, entrepreneur and expert in satellite systems, Harley was the Chairman and CEO of Direct Broadcast Satellite Corporation. Under his tenure, DBSC was restructured, refinanced and eventually merged with its strategic partner, EchoStar Coomunications Corp. Earlier, Harley served as an expert consultant to the U.S. Office of Telecommunications Policy, Executive Office of the President, and as a member of technical staff at Bell Telephone Laboratories and at Bellcomm He is a member of Sigma Xi; Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers; New York Academy of Sciences; National Space Club; Washington Space Business Roundtable; and the Baltimore-Washington Venture Group. He served on the Executive Committee of the Next Generation Fund for two years, and currently, is also a member of the Advisory Committee of Prudent Capital.
